What was the weirdest reason you ever skived off school?
I don’t think I ever skived off school. I wasn’t that kind of kid. I’ll tell you what – it’s funny. You sometimes get asked, “Ever steal anything as a kid? Ever do any shoplifting?” And a lot of people, ‘Well, just the…” Well, no, “Did you ever break the law as a kid?” And a lot of people say, “Well, just the usual thing. A bit of shoplifting and you know.” And I go, “The usual thing? A bit of shoplifting?” I didn’t do a bit of shoplifting. And they’ll say, “Well, we used to nick things from Woolworth’s, you know.” No, I did not.
What is the most unusual thing you’ve ever used as a toilet paper substitute?
Alright, let me think. What sort of answers do you get to these questions? Do you interview people with good memories? I don’t think I’ve ever rooted around in the embers of a bonfire. I look at the bonfire, I enjoy the bonfire, I leave the bonfire. I don’t go up and say, “Now, let me see what’s going on here.”
Phoebe Herring turned four years-old the weekend before the podcast recording.
RH notes during the introduction that it appears that a teacher in Mexico gave his pupils the emergency question essay question, “If you had to live the burrow or nest of an animal for a week, which animal’s home would you live in?”
RB notes that he was not actually in A Knight’s Tale.
RH passes along his parents’ regards to RB.
